Interested in being photographed?

Whether you are a professional model with years of experience or someone simply thinking about posing for the very first time, here are some answers to common questions that may help you decide if you want to do a shoot with me.

Am I suitable to model for you?
Absolutely, you most definitely are. Obviously, if you are confident with you own body and looks, or consider yourself beautiful, this will help if you happen to have or are seeking a modelling career.  But anybody can pose in front of a camera, and the key is to simply have fun and enjoy the experience.

What will I get if I do model for you?
It depends on our arrangement. I can offer 'Time For Photos' (TFP) to any aspiring model wanting to boost their portfolio or to any private vendor seeking non-commercial / non-exclusive photos. TFP is a trade arrangement where both parties benefit from the transaction – you will receive images from our shoot. Established models who don't need any photos may be paid for their services, in which case I as the photographer will retain commercial and exclusive rights over the images taken. If you want photos with full rights, you are expected to recompense me for my time and services.

What style photos do you take?

I can take photos in most styles including portrait, fashion, art, glamour, editorial, bikini/lingerie, dance, fitness/lifestyle, cosplay, nude etc. You are only expected to pose in the style in which you are comfortable with and as we agreed to prior to our shoot.

Do you expect me to go nude?

Absolutely not. While you will see plenty of tasteful nudes on this site which show the human body in artistic form, nudity is not expected from you. Most of the nudity on this site is done by professional nude models. It is solely your decision to set the boundaries in which you are comfortable, and you will not be pushed beyond your accepted limits.

What should I wear?
Please bring at least a couple of different items of clothing, shoes and accessories to achieve different looks, even if we have planned to do a nude shoot. I may ask you to bring specific items of clothing, or even have them sourced for you if there is a certain style or look planned. Clothing can range from haute couture, evening or day wear, swimwear, lingerie, dance/gym wear or costume (cosplay).

Who owns the images?
Professional models will be asked to sign a model release acknowledging the photographer as the copyright owner, and to grant image use rights. On a TFP shoot I as the photographer will own the copyright of the images, but I do not hold exclusive commercial rights over the images. If you want to own the images and determine how they are used, you are seeking commissioned work which requires payment for my time and services as the photographer.

Where and when will the shoot take place?

Shoots will occur at mutually agreed locations and time, and may be indoors (e.g. studio) or outdoors (e.g. beach, park, street scene). I don't have a car, so some locations are difficult for me to get to. But if you can drive, well who knows where we can end up (check out the many exotic destinations in which I have done a shoot).

What should I bring?

Bring your authentic self and intention to have some fun. Feel free to bring anything appropriate to make a good photo including clothing, accessories, makeup, heads pieces, props etc. Your are also welcome to bring a partner, relative or friend along to the shoot if that makes you feel more comfortable.  Oh, and maybe even your pet can join in too.

Will I need to do my hair and make-up?

If you can easily do this yourself, that's great. Most of my shoot styles are quite natural, so hair and make-up shouldn't be over the top. However, for some shoots a hair and make-up artist may be sourced, and may incur costs. This will be discussed prior to our shoot.

What are your TFP terms?

TFP should benefit both parties. You will receive a copy of our images at web resolution (about 700 pixels on the long side) for personal use. These may have a discrete watermark. You will also receive your choice of up to 10 full resolution images (self print), or four un-watermarked prints up to 12x18" in size, per every 2 hours of shoot time (e,g, a four hour shoot = 20 full resolution images or 8 prints). I will let you choose your own images from our shoot. If you share any images on social media please credit and tag me as the photographer.
In return, I will have equal rights to use any photos taken for self-promoation and non-commercial gain,

What about your fee-for-shoot terms?

Terms will be agreed prior to the shoot including rates, times, minimum hours, style and location. As you are being paid and not doing TFP you should not expect to receive any images. Paid models are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and aim towards meeting the  objectives of the shoot (e.g. meet the brief, clothing requests, timeliness, work ethic).

Are any of the these terms negotiable?

Absolutely, anything is possible within reason. Just ask me.
